Hearty Chili

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 1 bell pepper (diced)
  • 3-4 celery stalks (diced)
  • 1 tsp minced garlic (or 2 cloves)
  • 1.5 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (can use smoked or regular)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can pinto beans
  • 1 can petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 10 oz beef broth
  • cooking oil

Instructions
 

  • Cook ground beef then remove from pot
  • Add bell pepper, onion, and celery to pot and cook until softened
  • Add garlic and cook until fragrant
  • Return beef to pot and add seasonings
  • Add remaining ingredients, stir, and bring to a boil
  • Once boiling, reduce heat, simmer for at least an hour before serving

Notes

Best served with hot sauce, cheddar cheese, and cornbread.
